Born in Vancouver and raised on Vancouver Island, Dr. Lantz
lives and breathes the West Coast. This is what drew her back to the Lower Mainland for naturopathic medical training
at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, where she graduated as a Naturopathic Doctor. While at Boucher, Dr. Lantz
served her community as a nutraceutical representative and as the vice president of the
school's student association.
Dr. Lantz has a passion for understanding causality of her patients' clinical health
conditions. She believes that the way to truly champion health in her patients is
to address the body as a whole, rather than a sum of its parts. This drive for
understanding is exemplified by the NSERC grant she was awarded for her research
in organic chemistry and distinction of summa cum laude upon graduation with a
bachelors of science from Saint Mary's University in Nova Scotia.
Central to her philosophy on health, Dr. Lantz achieves life balance by investing time in
typical Vancouver activities including hiking the North Shore Mountains, running on the
Stanley Park Seawall, practising yoga and connecting with close friends.
Dr. Lantz's clinical focus is on general family practice and includes: clinical nutrition, diet
& lifestyle counseling; Chinese Medicine & acupuncture; botanical medicine, vitamin
and mineral supplementation; bodywork, including craniosacral and bowen therapy; and
homeopathy.
"My philosophy toward life, including health, wellness and medicine is balance. From
the biochemical reactions that run your individual cells to lifestyle choices in diet, work
and play - it's all about balance.
I am drawn to the practice of naturopathic medicine as it is the perfect blend of
evidence-based scientific medicine and holistic, natural forms of healing working toward
health in balance. I prefer its approach to viewing the body as a whole, integrated being
rather than individual parts and its focus on prevention.
With a family history in western medicine, I appreciate the work medical doctors do
and am trained to recognize when a referral is necessary and when pharmaceuticals,
diagnostic imaging/testing, and surgical intervention may be a required aspect of
treatment.
Health encompasses all aspects of living - it is not simply being disease free. It is
harmony of physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and connected living."
Dr. Lantz is a proud member of the British Columbia Naturopathic Association
(BCNA), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the College of
Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC).
